SALIGAO: The entire Porvorim plateau and surrounding areas will be affected by a major power shutdown at the 33/11KV Porvorim Sub Station on May 28 from 9 am to 3 pm.
A notice issued by the Electricity Department states that the affected areas are VP Socorro, VP Salvador Do Mundo, VP Penha De Franca, VP Pilerne, VP Sangolda and Pilerne Industrial Estate, Mollem Bhat, Tabrawado, Dhonwado Saligao under VP Saligao, Volant, supreme builders, Mona Nagar, Shantadurga temple, Patel nagar, Ramnagar, Gurudwara, Betim, RND workshop, Betim under VP Reis Magos, Assembly Complex and surrounding areas.
When contacted, Electricity Department Assistant Engineer Anil Kumar explained that the power shutdown has been necessitated due to maintenance of the power sub-station.
