Addressing a press conference, Gadkari said, “After the elections are over, the elected representatives will choose their new leader. We have a parliamentary board and the leader will be chosen in a democratic manner. He could be one among the elected MLAs or the Party could even select a central leader with the approval of the MLAs.”
Responding to a query whether BJP’s stand over CM candidate would leave Goan voters in a confused state, he said, “Not at all. I am giving an opportunity to the voters saying that we can do both. We are only keeping all the options open.”
When asked about the face of BJP’s election campaign, he said, “This election will be contested under the leadership of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar.”

government, he said, “I am confident that our government is already corruption-free. Allegations are being made but our government will always be transparent and corruption free.”
Speaking on Congress MLAs Mauvin Godinho and Pandurang Madkaikar joining the BJP, he said, “We are not importing any leaders. If there is any Congressman in any constituency who is influenced by BJP’s ideology and he has lost faith in Congress, we invite such people to work for us.”
Taking a dig at rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar, he said, “RSS Doesn’t interfere in political activities. I am a swayamsevak and I am proud of it. Sangh is a part of my life convictions.”
When asked about MGP parting away with BJP, he said, “I agree that they are my friends and will always remain my friends even if the alliance is broken. I tried contacting them during my last visit. May be he feels that he wants to be the CM and I cannot fulfil this expectation of his. Or may be he wants to align with us post polls.”
When asked about post-poll alliance with MGP, he said, “Politics is a game of compulsions, contradictions and limitations. Anything can happen in politics.”
