Power rebate scam: Judge summons 7 witnesses

MARGAO
Trial in the alleged power rebate scam case will resume on August 11 as the Special Judge, Additional Sessions Court, Judge Vincent D’Silva has summoned as many as seven witnesses to depose in the case.

The Judge posted the matter for trial on August 11 after hearing the case on Saturday.

Trial in the case had commenced before Judge Vincent earlier this year, before the accused persons, including Minister Mauvin Godinho and former Chief Electrical Engineer, T Nagarajan move applications for discharge in the case, saying the investigation agency had re-investigated the case when the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao had ordered further investigations.

The applications, however, did not find favour with Judge Vincent, who dismissed the plea of the accused for discharge, paving the way for the trial in the sensational case.
