Power saved from LED usage can be used for industries: CM

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said the usage of LED bulbs in the State will help to save about 75% power which could be supplied to industrial estates and other establishments which need more power.

He was speaking after inaugurating Jyotirmay LED bulbs scheme at Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) hall on Sunday. BMC Chairperson Satish Gaonkar, councillors, former Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar, Bicholim BJP Mandal president Vallabh Salkar, Vishwas Gaonkar and other senior leaders were present on the occasion.   
Parsekar called upon the people to take maximum benefit of the scheme to help the government to achieve its target.   
Patnekar, Vishwas Gaonkar and others also spoke on the occasion. Vallabh Salkar welcomed the gathering and also proposed the vote of thanks.   
A large number of villagers were present on the occasion to take benefit of the scheme.   
The LED bulbs were also distributed held at Sawant hall, Karapur, on Saturday.   
Parsekar, Speaker Anant Shet, North Goa ZP president Ankita Navelkar, Panchas Divya Kharkande and Mahesh Sawant were present.

Power woes dominate Pirna meet

Power problems dominated the proceedings at the Pirna gram sabha on Sunday with locals ready to agitate if electricity woes are not resolved as per their expectations. rnSachin Sawant, a gram sabha member, raised the pitch declaring that in many areas street lights were not working.
