Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir sees grand celebrations in Mormugao

Grand celebrations were witnessed all over Mormugao taluka to commemorate the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya on Monday.

While almost every temple had various programmes, rallies and processions were also taken out at different parts of Vasco, Dabolim, Mormugao, Sada, Baina, New Vaddem and other parts of Mormugao taluka.

Temples across the taluka were seen decorated and illuminated, while many temples saw a large rush of devotees.

The Ram Temples at Varunapuri and Mestawada witnessed an extra rush of devotees during the historic day of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Many temples also had screens providing live telecast of the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Vasco's Swatantra Path was decorated with an arch at the entry of the road, lightings all across the road, Akash Kandeels, idols and figurines of Lord Ram at many locations and even replicas of temples.

While the Ram Mandir at Varunapuri saw bhajans since early morning, the Ram Mandir at Mestawada had a special Geet Ramayan function as one of its highlights.

Huge Rangolis were seen made by people and many temples had lamps lit in the formation of Jai Shree Ram.

One of the biggest permanent Rangoli of Lord Ram was also placed at Vasco, which attracted many people to click selfies.

Politicians were in attendance at many of the functions across the taluka.

Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar ensured that the city got a feel of Ayodhya with several decorations and along with Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Girish Borker, participated in Yagnas and Havans at various temples and wards.

Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar had also participated in the programmes at Sai Baba temple and Laxmi Narayan temple at Sada.

Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho participated in various programmes held in different parts of Dabolim constituency.

He was present for programmes at the Kirtan and Bhajan at Dabolimcha Raja Mantap, Krishna Devasthan and Sai Baba temple at Bogmalo, Santoshi Mata temple at New Vaddem, Rashtroli Brahman temple at Vaddem and at Mahalasa temple in Verna.

While the Mormugao Taluka saw many rallies and processions on two-wheelers, rickshaw drivers of Vasco had their own rally to celebrate the Pran Pratishtha at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Besides rallies and processions, religious Yagnas, Havans and Kirtans were also performed at various locations.

A "Prabhat Feri" was also conducted at many locations with the participation of a large number of people and police teams were seen posted at various locations to prevent any untoward incident.

The celebration of the Pran Pratishtha day of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya went on till late night in Vasco, with people wearing traditional clothing and chanting of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ slogans and visiting temples across all parts of the Taluka.
