A 25-year-old woman from Bhoma-Ponda was arrested on charges of obstructing the police which discharging their duties and for causing damage to a police vehicle and a mobile phone.
According to police reports, two police staff, Akshay Parsekar and Prasad Sawant had gone to a site in a Robot VIII vehicle, when the accused, Afreen Sheikh, is alleged to have abused and obstructed both of them while they were performing their lawful duties.
The accused is also alleged to have damaged the mobile phone of Prasad Sawant and also pelted stone on the Robot VIII vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle.
Porvorim police later arrested Sheikh under Sections 353, 504, 186 and 427 of IPC and was sent to to judicial custody. Head Constable Madan Tari is investigating the case.
