Pre-monsoon works began in Baina on Wednesday evening, much to the relief of residents who have been previously confronted with flooding due to blocked gutters in the monsoons.The pre-monsoon works were launched by Ward Councillor Deepak Naik and other residents.
Speaking to reporters, Naik said the works include trimming of trees and cleaning of gutters to avoid flooding in the ward.
"We had recently convened a meeting of all prominent citizens and even my political opponents before we launched the pre-monsoon works so that we could take into consideration public suggestions and stress on vulnerable areas as well,” said Naik.
