Prez post: Did not approach any MLA for support, says Girish

MARGAO: All India Congress Secretary (AICC) Secretary Girish Chodankar on Sunday said he is not disappointed over reports that party MLAs in the state are opposed to his candidature for the post of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president.

“There’s no question of getting disappointed since I am not attached to any post or position. I have been part of the Congress and working for the party without any expectations for the last 28 years”, Girish told The Goan on Sunday, saying he is not disappointed for the simple reason that he had no expectation vis-à-vis any post or position.

When his attention was drawn to reports that many a Party MLA is opposed to his candidature, Girish downplayed the reports, saying he had never lobbied with any MLA or leaders in support of his candidature. “Let me make it clear that I did not approach any MLA or any other leader to back my candidature for post of GPCC. I have been working for the party for the last 28 years without any expectations”, he said.
