MARGAO
South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) Chairman MLA Krishna Daji Salkar on Wednesday said the PDA has set in motion the process to tender the Sopo collection for the wholesale fish market and the retail market.
The PDA Chairman conceded that what had happened in the past relating to the pending recovery from the contractors is bad while issuing a warning that nobody will be spared.
He further said the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) has been asked to expedite the ongoing works on the wholesale market project so that construction on the balance area is taken up without shifting the market.
“If the contractors are required to pay the PDA bills, no one will be spared. Whether PDA staff or any other person was involved in the illegalities, we will take action. I fail to understand the lethargy of the previous PDA for its failure to recover the dues from the contractor,” he said, while saying the PDA has cleared bills amounting to crores of rupees since he took charge of the body last year.
