Professional conference for life skills educators, advocators

PANAJI

The global conference for life skills professionals, P20 Talks, is being held in India this year in Goa, from October 7-9 at Kenilworth Hotels, Utorda. International professionals from four continents will gather to speak on life skills at the event which is being hosted by the international consciousness movement Parenting 2.0 (LinkedIn’s top ranked parenting group with more than 7500 members in over 100 countries).

P20 Talks is structured around the concept of the 'Life Skills Report Cards', with 25 life skills educators proficient in multiple diverse life skills arenas speaking on the benefits of embracing enhanced educational processes.

Parenting 2.0 deviates from traditional parenting paradigms by recommending that third party professionals “ not parents “ serve as the primary educators of life skills. Parenting 2.0 advocates that life skills are core skills which allow humans, communities and humanity to thrive and we learn life skills “ from cradle to coffin “ 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

From the moment we are born until the day we die we are either learning life skills or repeating life skills learned. Human beings learn life skills from people who were never formally educated in these most critical of arenas themselves “ parents.

“Limiting children to parental competencies and expecting parents to personally master and teach their children the vast array of life skills essential for success in the twenty first century communicates a gross ignorance of their importance and their complexity,” maintains Parenting 2.0’s founderMarlaine Cover - one of more than 25 thought leaders presenting at the weekend conference.

Parenting 2.0 is reaching out to institutional heads and educational authorities across Goa through its public service arm “ The Global Presence.
