Prudent Media got another feather in its cap when it launched Prudent Plus and Prudent Podcast Goa on the occasion of its 16th anniversary Sunday.
Prudent Plus is the updated version of its mobile App which now will allow users to get access to all newspapers published under the umbrella organisation Fomento Media, as well as all channels that are broadcast by it.
For its 1.5 lakh users, Prudent Media has also started a podcast, Prudent Podcast Goa which would be available on five major platforms – Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube Music, and Google Podcast.
Launching Prudent Plus, Vinayak Gaikwad, editor, BBC Marathi lauded the numbers and reach of the television and news channels, the newspapers as well as the digital presence of Fomento Group.
“Your numbers are great. Having a network like yours, in a State like Goa, is very important, especially in creating content and disseminating information. You have audience, trust, and faces. You have a reach in people’s homes and hearts. It’s easier for you to go up from this pedestal. Take up this challenge. Even if you fail 10 times in digital, never mind. One has to take risk, and if that’s not the spirit, one cannot rise”, he said.
Launching Prudent Podcast Goa, Ambar Timblo, Chairman and Managing Director, Fomento Group said, “What we are dealing now is not money, but information. Content would be effectively the new currency in the world today. In the space where your information is solid, correct, and relevant, it will attract the largest value. That value will only be understood with the associations that you make over the period.”
Speaking on the occasion, Pramod Acharya, editor, Prudent Media said, “As of now we have around 1.5 lakh downloads of our App apart from the active users and we have updated this same App, making it now Prudent Plus.”
Elaborating further Acharya said, “those who have been using the App will now be able to get access to our English newspaper The Goan Everyday, Marathi newspaper Goan Varta and Konkani newspaper Bhaangarbhui. Apart from this the users will get to view our Marathi channel Goan Varta Live too.”
Acharya went on to say, “we also have a television channel in Sindhudurg, namely Konkansaad Live and a Marathi newspaper Konkansaad, which also will be accessible to the users of Prudent Plus App. We have integrated all channels live and all newspapers in this App”.
He also said, from October 3, the notification of all our newspapers will come on the mobile. One just has to open the newspaper and read it. Just as our breaking news notification comes to you on your mobile, the notification of newspapers will also come in the morning. We would be on Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube Music and Google Podcast.”
