Prudent Survey: BJP vote share intact

45% give thumbs up to functioning of govt; 42% satisfied with Covid management, but a massive chunk of 72% don't trust the politicians in the State

Prudent Survey: BJP vote share intact

PANAJI

BJP seems to have kept its vote bank intact with 45 per cent of the respondents in 'Mood of the State', a survey conducted by Prudent Media, vouching for the government headed by Pramod Sawant while  scoring a little less at 42 percent in handling of the Covid-19 crisis.

These are some of the outcomes of Goa's largest sample survey conducted on September 7 and 8 in the State.

Phase - 1 of the survey included three important questions “ Do you trust the politicians of Goa? Are you happy with the current government of Goa? Is the government of Goa doing a good job in managing the corona crisis? The survey covered around 65,000 people and 45 per cent of them expressed their satisfaction with the incumbent government, showing that the BJP vote share remains intact.

Prudent Media undertook the survey by inviting people from various walks of life across Goa and registered their political opinions. Since more than 65,000 people participated in the survey, it could be considered as one of the biggest opinion polls the State has witnessed in the recent years. As 42-45 per cent of the people who were surveyed registered positive inclination towards the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), it shows that the saffron party has not lost its vote bank, albeit it seems to have made it stronger.

To a question if they were happy with the working of the government in power, 45 per cent of them replied in affirmative and 55 in negative. When asked whether the incumbent government is doing a good job on the Corona management, 42 per cent of the people said yes, and 58 per cent said no.

The survey also included a question whether the people of Goa trusts the politicians in the State, to which only 28 per cent of them replied in affirmative. The rest 72 per cent said that they do not trust the Goan politicians.
