The Public Service Commissions including Goa PSC might explore adopting digital evaluation of answer scripts and integrating Artificial Intelligence into their processes, marking a transformative shift in examination procedures and internal operations.
At a standing committee meeting held in Kohima, Nagaland from December 8-10; pivotal discussions centered around the adoption of digital evaluation and incorporating Artificial Intelligence in PSC processes.
The standing committee led by Jose Manuel Noronha, who is also the Chairman of Goa PSC thereafter called on the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio, and apprised him of the working of the PSCs.
“Digital evaluations are when the answer books are scanned and sent to examiners to assess online. The papers are assessed in an examination centre which is supervised by the Commission. The only highlight is that the papers are not made available to the examiners in physical form,” Noronha said, further explaining,
“Artificial Intelligence is being examined as a tool to assist the commission in setting papers, especially of the multiple choice type just before the commencement of the exam. This will help in doing away with the possibility of paper leakages as well as minimizing the errors associated with incorrect answer keys or improperly framed questions etc.”
The members of the standing committee are Chairpersons of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Kerala, Haryana and Gujarat.
