4 months on, staff of S Goa Admin of Comunidades not paid salaries

Employees hope to get dues before Christmas

4 months on, staff of S Goa Admin of Comunidades not paid salaries

MARGAO
Non-payment of salaries of the 30-odd employees of the South Goa Administrator of Comunidades have come back to haunt the authorities again.

If sources are to be believed, it’s now about four months since the Comunidade employees have not received their salaries. And, they keep their fingers crossed whether they would get their salaries on the eve of the ensuing Christmas festival along with other government employees or wait for the New Year to ring in good news.

This is the first time after many months that the Comunidade employees have to go without the monthly salaries for the last four months.

An employee has attributed the non-payments of the employees’ salaries to issues relating to the budgetary head through which the salaries were paid in the past.

Given that the next Assembly session is expected to take place in the month of January, sources said the issues relating to the budgetary head are expected to be resolved in the coming Assembly session. “We keep our fingers crossed over receiving the salaries. Hope the government takes a decision at the earliest so that we start receiving our salaries,” remarked an employee.
