Curtorim Sarpanch Caetano Hilario has said the panchayat had received the file for the construction of 11 row bungalows, a health club and swimming pool.
“The panchayat had an inspection on November 10. At the meeting, four panchayat members opposed the project, while the remaining members called for issuance of permission and licence for the project,” he said.
Saying that the panchayat had sent the matter to the Salcete Block Development Officer for advice, he said the BDO had called upon the panchayat body to act as per the provisions of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act. “We have now decided to revoke the permission for the project based on the objections raised by the farmers. We will communicate the panchayat decision to the applicant for revocation of the permission,” Hilario added.
