BJP when close to elections always courts controversies to stir up emotions and influence voters. The main agenda of the party is to win elections at all costs and to that extent energies are directed towards its prime goal. Elections are close on heels in Karnataka and what better diversion then to stir up Mhadei issue. The BJP Govt in Goa is a willing partner to mortgage Goa's interest.
Union Minister Shripad Naik is a lone wolf crying in the wilderness being seen as a sacrificial lamb. The central Govt sure will find it a convenient and dispensable option as Shripad does not command any popularity with the government as was visible during last elections.
Needless to say all previous resolutions of panchayats on many burning issues have been ignored. Hence it is yet another exercise in futility that will not change course or provide relief nor influence outcomes. Both BJP Govt in states will make customary sound bytes of dissent but dare not be a spoke in the wheel of central dictat but obey dutifully like bonded slaves.
