What do we get in return by low-end tourism on a shoe-string budget ? Only garbage and more garbage, filth littered on beaches, highways, lakes, rivers etc. Who's work is this to clear all this mess created , a by-product of low quality tourism? They come in droves from all entry points by sea, air, land by way of cars, buses, railways etc. With alcohol and drugs knowing no bounds , they create all sorts of nuisance during their stay here. Certain amount of cess should be primarily levied at all entry points on such persons. These funds could be utilised for maintenance, clearing, cleaning all infrastructure messed up by these tourists. These tourists also defecate in the open and such nuisance has to be tackled by appropriate laws to serve as a deterrent. The image of tourism could take a toll and would keep high end tourists at bay. A suggestion of mechanised brooms prefitted on cleaning vehicles would become handy to sweep clean our roads riddled with all sorts of garbage and filth in dry form more efficiently.
