The QMC has decided to extend the contract of solid waste management agency by one month and will later manage the solid waste management with the assistance of labourers of the municipal council.
The councillors also decided to regularise the services of municipal staff who work as labourers, and who have served for the past five years in the municipal council. A special council meeting will be convened before May 31 to discuss and decide on other outstanding issues, especially the monsoon preparedness in the municipal areas.
