A group of Muslims from Betul in Quittol village have called for the intervention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to resolve the dispute affecting the management of the dargah.
Addressing the media, the group, claiming they constitute the local Muslim populace inhabiting Quittol, said the authorities should use their good offices and ensure that the management of the dargah is in the hands of all the people.
Saying that the issue can be resolved if four members from each group are nominated on the management of the dargah, Sheikh Zahid said the local Muslim community will have no option than to resort to a hunger strike if the management is not opened for them as well. “We will not leave the issue and fight for the rights of the local community in the management of the dargah. We appeal to the Chief Minister as well as the authorities to intervene and ensure peace in the area,” he appealed.
“No place of worship can belong to an individual, but to the entire community. We are only demanding that the management of the dargah comes in the hands of the local Muslim community inhabiting the village,” he added.
