BJP spokesman Dattaprasad Naik on Wednesday said AlCC President Rahul Gandhi and GPCC chief Girish Chodankar should make their stand clear whether they support the recent hugging act of Pakistan army chief by Punjab Congress minister Navjot
Singh Sidhu.
“By his hugging act, Navjot Singh Sidhu has brought disgrace to the nation. All India Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Goa Congress chief Girish Chodankar must come clean if they support his act or not,” Naik said.
The BJP spokesman was addressing a news conference in a city hotel in Mapusa along with North Goa General Secretaries, Guru Pawaskar and Hemant Goltekar and North Goa spokesman Franky Carvalho.
Naik said there was no letup in skirmishes along the J&K border, which happens under the patronage of the Pakistan army.
“It’s an open secret that the conflicts along the border take place under the instructions of the Pakistan army chief. Sidhu’s hugging of the Pakistan army chief is
unacceptable,” the BJP spokesman said.
He further said that several Congress leaders who went across the border indulged in such anti-national activities.
“Sometime back, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar called for dislodging Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Pakistan soil while another leader, Digvijay Singh made some other uncharitable remarks,” he said.
On Navjot Singh Sidhu’s charge that BJP were actually trying to divert people’s mind from the Centre’s lukewarm response to relief in Kerala, Naik said the PM was overseeing the relief work in the Southern State. “Modi will set an example by overseeing the whole relief work in Kerala and ensure that aid reaches to each and every person.”
