PANAJI: Coinciding with the Republic Day celebrations, Kala Academy will organize 'Ramayana' - a choreographic production presented through medium of Odissi dance and Shadow Dance by artists of Pallavi- Odissi Nritya Sangeet Vidyalay, New Delhi, on January 26, at 6.30 pm at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy Panaji. The dance production is under the artistic direction of Odissi dancer Padmashri Kiran Segal. The entry passes will be available at Kala Academy.

Ramayana is a popular and influential epic that has several interpretations that have been handed down over the ages, with the most popular one being of Valmiki. However, Kiran Segal has chosen couplets, shlokas from Swami Brahmaanad’s Rama Ashtakam to narrate the Ramayana through Odissi dance and Shadow dance.

Kiran Segal is the choreographer and artistic director of this production. Shrad Kulshreshtha - light design, Sujata Segal - make-up & costumes.
