Rane arrived at the airport at around 2 am on Thursday and along with the officials and Airport Director Gagan Malik, took stock of situation of all screening facilities and other procedures adopted at the airport to screen international passengers in the wake of the coronavirus threat.
After inspecting the screening procedures for around 90 minutes, Rane left the airport at around 3.30 am.
He expressed satisfaction with the Airport Authority of India for adhering to all the guidelines laid down by the health department.

We will soon put the system in place. We will have a meeting on Friday and set a standard operating procedures so that anyone entering Goa can be checked properly,” said Rane.
Rane said besides the two quarantine centres identified, a private hospital in Chicalim had also given some beds that could be used, if required.
