Rane under fire for statement on Goans working abroad

MARGAO

The Aam Aadmi Party has hit back at senior Congress legislator and former chief minister Pratapsingh Rane for his “derogatory” remarks against Goans working abroad.

AAP spokesman and South Goa District Coordinator, Rodney Almeida, said Goans staying abroad were getting paid back with such humiliation for trusting Congress and called upon them to condemn Rane’s utterances.

“Congress policies under Rane for years had left many unemployed and many had to leave Goa to escape poverty. These leaders with a feudal mindset never wanted the common man to come up,” Almeida said.

He added that time has come to publicly boycott Rane and the Congress and chart a new path with new thinking with the help of AAP. “Already reeling under the sick rule of BJP, Goa Forward and the MGP, it is sad to see a Congress showing its true colours. All are for themselves and none for the common man. Hence AAP becomes even more relevant,” he added.
