Goa might be a frontrunner in many sectors, but it ranks 26th among 36 states and union territories in the Country as far as implementation of e-services is concerned.
Topping the e-services list is Andhra Pradesh with 190 followed by Telangana (178), Kerala (145), Gujarat (144) and Madhya Pradesh (143).
As per the Electronic Transaction Aggregation and Analysis Layer (e-taal) of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, there are 25 states and union territories in the Country ahead of Goa in providing e-services to their citizens.
Nonetheless, the State of Mizoram is on par with Goa with the same number of e-services being provided.
Presently, Goa has 31 e-services being provided to its citizens. The eight standard services listed are - Certificates, Commercial Tax, Industry and Commerce, Integrated Finance Management Services, Land Revenue, Public Distribution System, Transport and Utility Services and Bill
Payment.
In all, the number of e-transactions in the State from January 1 to June 7 2017 are 17,17,004 and e-transactions per 1000 population is 1178.45.
The highest number of e-transaction made were related to Utility Services and Bill Payment with 11,19,523, followed by Integrated Finance Management Services, with 4,19,362 and Commercial taxes with 1,23,321 e-transactions.
As far as certificates are concerned, eight services are being provided and the total number of e-transactions is 15,141. However, the highest number of e-transactions is to avail residence e-services with 12,163, followed by caste e-services with 2,158 e-transactions. This number comprises of e-transactions in North
Goa only.
