PONDA
It may be recalled that Ravi Naik had taken action against prominent politicians and had put them behind bars when he was the home minister and chief minister.
"I have a record of sending politicians behind bars. Let us not tolerate anti-social elements and their agents. You can teach them a lesson by voting for the Congress candidate," stated Ravi Naik in a corner meeting at Usgao.
Interestingly, though the meeting was organised on the road, near the residence of the Usgaonkar family at a
place locally known as Vadakaden, 100-odd people attended the meet. Congress supporters John Pereira, Ashok Naik, Anand Naik, Shailesh Borkar and others were present.
"We were about to form the government, but some betrayed us and joined the BJP by resigning from the Congress. Because of this, the Election Commission announced the by-poll. This is now conducted using public money. We all are paying for it, as some wanted power. Will you trust such leaders," Naik questioned.
Ravi Naik, who has stronghold in Usgao, was welcomed by his old supporters.
Ravi Naik asks people not to wilt under money power
Asserting that the opponents of Congress have been jolted after Roy Naik's candidature was declared to contest the Valpoi by-election, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has appealed to the voters not to care about anti-social elements and their agents if they ask for votes by using muscle and money power.
