Officials of the PWD and the Margao traffic cell inspected the Power House junction on Monday after residents of Davorlim demanded that the authorities regulate the traffic flow since the existing pattern posed dangers to traffic heading towards the village.
Villagers led by Anand Sawant told the media after the inspection that the residents had been repeatedly knocking the doors of various authorities, including the District Collector, traffic cell and the RTO to regulate the traffic flow following the widening of the Power House junction.
He said that the traffic junction has witnessed unauthorised parking of outstation heavy trucks near the Power House junction.
PWD Engineer Vincent Costa said that most of the suggestions made by the Davorlim villagers will be incorporated in the traffic plan mooted at the Power House junction. “We had almost finalized the plan to regulate traffic at the junction. But, since the villagers have made a few suggestions, the same will be incorporated in the plan before its implementation," Costa said.
