SANGUEM
The Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC) Chairperson Romualdo Fernandes has assured that the Municipal Rest House would be completed by December end.
The ambitious project had been undertaken by the SMC in 2015 at a cost of Rs 1 crore under funds allotted to the council by the government under the Golden Jubilee Fund. The foundation stone for the project was laid by former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar.
The project would have helped the council generate additional revenue from renting out the Rest House for individuals.
However, the work got delayed and has moved at much slower pace than expected by residents of Sanguem and the delay has deprived the SMC of earning from the rent of the premises.
Insisting that the work will be completed by December end, Fernandes said he has been after the contractor to expedite work on the project.
