OLD GOA
As a large number of supporters gathered at the ‘Vishwasgaat’ protest organized by the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP), Goans were urged to come to terms with the fact that the Congress and the BJP are one and the same.
At the meeting held at Azad Maidan on Sunday to protest against the defection of 8 Congress MLAs, various leaders highlighted that RGP is the only alternative for Goans and challenged the defectors to resign and re-contest.
Speaking at the meeting, MLA Viresh Borkar said that what RGP was saying all along finally came true as the defection proved beyond doubt that the BJP and Congress are one and the same.
“We were always saying that Congress and BJP are one, and it has been proved through this defection. They even made mockery of Gods by going against the vow that they took. It was a drama only to fool the voters and the defection game was pre-planned even before the Assembly elections,” Borkar added.
The MLA further said that the Congress is only shedding crocodile tears now to gain sympathy from the people.
“But Goans should not fall for such tears again as such defections will continue in the future as well,” he added.
“People have to open their eyes and realize that Congress is BJP and BJP is Congress. The BJP wants to finish Opposition as they want to finish Goa and Goans,” Borkar stated while urging the people to give RGP a chance in the next Assembly elections.
“I will continue fighting for the rights of the Goans as a lone Opposition and urge the people to strengthen the hands of RGP so that the next government is formed by our party,” he added.
Borkar also urged people to beware of the Congress, which will come begging to the voters that such thing will not happen again. “Don’t trust the Congress as it will happen over and over again,” he stated.
RGP supreme Manoj Parab too said that the Congress and the BJP are hand in glove in the defection episode.
“We had predicted it long back but nobody believed us. Now that our prediction has come true, the Goans should understand that Congress and BJP are one and the same,” Parab stated and urged the people to vote responsibly and not sell their votes for a few thousand rupees.
Parab further warned that Sunday’s protest was just a symbolic protest and more such protests will be held in the eight constituencies where the MLAs have defected.
‘If the eight defectors want to save themselves from further embarrassment, they should resign and re-contest and allow the people to decide their fate,” Parab thundered.
