Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC had to wait until the tiebreaker to shoot out hosts Dicarpale SC 5-4 to enter the quarterfinals of the Fatima Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Dicarpale SC at Dicarpale ground on Sunday.
Both the teams failed to score in the normal time. In the tiebreaker, Savio Fernandes, Hilton Fernandes, Noel D’Silva, Christo D’Mello and Andrus John scored for Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC while Alent Colaco, Milton Colaco, Cindroy Furtado and Venson Figuiredo netted for Dicarpale SC.
St Rock’s YC Majorda in semifinals
St Rock’s Youth SC Majorda defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 5-3 via the tiebreaker to enter the semifinals of the St Joseph Festival Soccer inter-village football tournament organised by Dramapur SC at DSYA ground, Dramapur.
Both the teams were tied 1-1 at the normal time. Sanford Colaco gave the lead to PY Nuvem which was later cancelled by Kevin Almeida.
In the tiebreaker, Allen Fernandes, Josley Dias, Meuton Fernandes and Filbert Pereira netted for St Rock’s YC while Niclou Colaco and Inacio Colaco were on target for Parish Youth Nuvem.
Quepem Veterans move into quarterfinals
Quepem Veterans made short work of Navelim Veterans 3-1 to enter the quarterfinals of the Varca Veterans Cup football tournament organised by Varca Veterans at Varca football ground on Sunday.
Quepem Veterans netted a brace through Tamit and a goal through Patroci. For Navelim, Bobby pulled a goal back. The Man of match award was presented to Claudio Dias of Navelim Veterans.
