Revolutionary Goans Party MLA Viresh Borkar has issued a notice to the Speaker to introduce a private member's Person of Goan Origin (POGO) Bill in the upcoming assembly session.
"For the first time, there is a clear-cut definition of Goemkar in the Bill. The Bill has to be passed in the session, and further scrutiny from law and other departments should ensue," said Borkar while speaking to the media on Friday.
He said RGP will submit a copy of the Bill to the Goa Governor.
"The Bill will be sent to all MLAs and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. We requested all MLAs last year to introduce the Bill in the assembly session. Now we are fulfilling the promise of RGP."
"All MLAs should support the Bill as it aims to save the existence of Goans, irrespective of political difference," said Borkar.
"Many such bills will be placed weekly in the assembly session," added Borkar.
