The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has begun preparations for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, with its leadership discussing possible alliance options and strategies to strengthen the party’s grassroots organisation at a meeting held in Porvorim on Sunday.

The organisational meeting, held at the Alto Porvorim Sports and Cultural Club, focused on strengthening the party’s structure, expanding its membership base and preparing for the electoral challenge.

Alliance possibilities featured prominently in the discussions. The party maintained that any decision on a political understanding with other parties would be guided by the interests of Goa and Goans, its core ideology and organisational strength. The leadership will continue consultations before taking a final call, the party stated in a press release.

The meeting also discussed Section 39A of the Goa Town and Country Planning Act, with members being briefed on its provisions and implications, particularly regarding land-use changes. The party stressed the need to create greater public awareness and vigilance to protect Goa’s land, environment and natural resources.

The organisational review covered membership drives, constituency-level structures and the strengthening of various party wings to expand its grassroots network.

Several public issues, including land, employment, tourism, water supply, electricity, environmental protection and governance, also figured in the discussions.

The party further deliberated on its vision for forming the next government, focusing on improving Goa’s financial position, addressing the State’s liabilities, strengthening governance and ensuring better public facilities and opportunities. With the Assembly elections approaching, the RGP resolved to expand its presence across the State and build a disciplined, election-ready organisation.
