A rider died after the scooter plunged into a canal near the Pernem Health Centre on Thursday night.
According to reports, the incident came to light on Friday morning and a fire tender from the Pernem fire services went to the site and retrieved the body of Shyam Gawas and the scooter.
The body was later handed over to Pernem police for further investigations.
