Ruby bldg case: Arguments before framing of charges begin

Arguments before framing of charges in the collapse of Ruby Residency buildings in Canacona began before Additional Sessions Judge Edgar Fernandes on Tuesday. The arguments will continue to be heard as they remained incomplete.

Arguing on behalf of the state government, Public Prosecutor Bhanudas Gaonkar termed the incident to be of a serious nature, which led to many labourers buried alive due to the collapse of the buildings. He also referred to the alleged low quality cement, steel and other material used for the construction as being allegedly responsible for the collapse of the buildings.   
The incident had occurred in the year 2014 which had resulted 31 labourers being buried alive at the site.  The fallout of this incident had led to the arrests of the builder, contractor and other administrative officials. They included Sehgal, Birring, administrative officials Prakash Bandodkar, Prashant Shirodkar, Deepak Desai and some others.    TGN
