Rudreshwar Rath Yatra to arrive in Canacona today

The Rath Yatra of Shri Rudreshwar Deva from Harwale Chaisha, the deity of the Bhandari community in Goa, is travelling throughout the State from January 6 to January 27 and will arrive at Canacona Taluka on Saturday.

The Rath Yatra will arrive at about 11 am in Canacona and the Rath will stop for 10 minutes near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Memorial near KTC Bus-Stand, Chaudi, for a darshan of Rudreshwar Deva by devotees in Canacona Municipal area and will then depart for Shree Gopalkrishna Temple at Mokhard-Bhatpal in Shristhal.

After ritualistic Puja Naivedya and Mahaprasad at Gopalkrishna Temple, from 2 pm onwards, there will be 10-minute darshan at each station of Partagal, Khavat, Karpanas, Painguinim, Agas, Loliem, Shelim, Polem, Galgibaga - Kolsar - Talpona, Muthal, Ghodkamolem and Pasal. The yatra will stop for rest at Shri Gopalkrishna Temple at Mokhard at 8 pm.

After that Naivedya, Puja Prasad, Mahaprasad and "Swarrudresh" will be performed with a programme of soft music.

On Sunday at 10 am, a puja will be completed by devotees and then the chariot of Sri Rudreshwar will be handed over to devotees of Quepem taluka in a procession.

President Venkatarai Naik, Executive President Yashwant Naik, Reception Committee President Sachin Naik, Devasthan President Raji Bhandari, Convener Janardan Bhandari have requested the participation of Hindu brothers and sisters of Canacona taluka, citizens of different communities, representatives of different organisations, temple officials, other dignitaries and devotees in large numbers.
