Several mock security drills have been lined up for the personnel over the two days. The underlying aim of the exercise is to review and enhance the preparedness of the security personnel as well as to create public awareness in dealing with threat to public security.
Security agencies will stage ‘militant attacks’ at beaches, coastal hotels, hospitals, bus stands, commercial establishments and other public places and take ‘hostages.’
In case of any suspicious movements, people have been requested to report the same to the control room set up in the office of the Collector and District Magistrate, South Goa, Margao, from 6 am on April 20, till the exercise is over.
Emergency control room numbers include the collectors’ office, Margao - 2794100, SP (south) on 2732218 and PCR (Margao) on 2700142.
General public visiting the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex, South Goa Collectorate, in Margao, on April 20 and 21, are requested to carry their ID proof to avoid inconvenience.
