The gram sabha presided by Sarpanch Punam Samant was attended by eight panchas. Secretary Prasad Shet was also present.
The issue of plots, which was discussed in the previous gram sabhas, also came up for discussion on Sunday after the villagers informed that these are being developed at many places in the village.
“Outsiders purchase small pieces of land and construct many rooms, so their families and relatives can stay there, thereby putting strain on water and electricity facilities and even create garbage problem. Only solution is that no outsiders should be allowed to purchase land of less than 250 square mtrs,” said a local.
The locals added that the villagers should be given relaxation.
Sarpanch Samant said locals will be given relaxation, but the panchayat will take stern action against outsiders who don’t follow the resolution.
The issue of scrapyards was also discussed and it was resolved to take action in the matter.
“Scrapyards are creating problems. These should be shifted elsewhere from our areas,” a villager suggested.
The panchayat then resolved to take action on controversial scrap yards and also write to the department concerned to shift them.
The villagers requested the panchayat to convince a company to employ local youth in its new expansion. Sarpanch Samant assured to have a dialogue with the company officials.
