Saplings planted on Chandranath hill
CURCHOREM: School students and devotees of Shri Chandreshwar Bhutnath temple at Parvat in Quepem celebrated vanamahotsav by planting saplings on Chandranath hill.
About 300 scout and guide students along with many devotees of Lord Chandreshwar participated in the vanamahotsav event on Saturday.
Speaking to The Goan, Ramprasad Prabhudessai, a devotee, said about 300 scout and guide students from Sanguem, Quepem and Dharbandora schools participated in the event.
He said Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik were the special guests for the event. Both encouraged the students to plant more saplings.
Later, the students cleaned the footsteps and nearby area in the temple area. At various places where trees were cut down, saplings were planted by students and locals.
