The Goa cabinet, which met on Friday, appointed senior counsel Saresh Lotlikar as the new Advocate General of Goa even as they decided to retain the services of former Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni to represent the state in ‘important’ cases in the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal.
Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the cabinet
approved the resolution to appoint Saresh Lotlikar as the AG as well as to add an additional Advocate General in the form of Dattaprasad Lawande who will be in charge of the Special Legal Cell for Goa which looks after the Mhadei case, the mining case and cases in the National Green Tribunal. “We asked him (A N S Nadkarni) to continue to represent the State in the Mhadei case, the Tiracol bridge case and other important cases in the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal,” Parsekar said.
