MARGAO
Subhash Babuso Satardekar was declared unopposed as sarpanch of Aquem-Baixo by presiding officer Angelico Gracias after he received his lone nomination paper for the vacant post.
His nomination was proposed by outgoing sarpanch Siddesh Bhagat and seconded by Ramdas Usgaonkar. Six out of the nine panchayat members attended the meeting.
Subhash succeeds Siddesh, who had quit office last month on the plea that he
wants to devote time to take up public issues affecting the society.
