A senior citizen had a lucky escape when a LPG cylinder exploded and damaged her house at Dhamse in Sattari on Monday evening.
According to reports, the woman, Satyawati Ram Deoli (67) was living alone in her house after her two children had died two years ago.
She was in her neighbour’s house at about 7.30 pm when the cylinder exploded and damaged her house.
The Valpoi fire services was alerted and a fire tender rushed to the site. By the time the fire was extinguished, the roof of her house had been badly damaged.
The property damaged is estimated at Rs 1 lakh and the woman has been left virtually homeless.
