Sattari local ends life

VALPOI: A 46-year-old man from Savarshe-Sattari committed suicide in his bedroom on Saturday.

According to Valpoi PI Sanjay Dalvi, Rajendra Chandrakant Gaonkar ended his life sometime between 2 pm and 4.30 pm, after latching the bedroom door from the inside.

Valpoi police conducted the inquest and sent the body for an autopsy at the GMC hospital in Bambolim. The motive for the suicide is not known and investigations are in progress.

PANAJI Nearly 31,648 Panajimites will decide the fate of 95 candidates in fray for Corporation of City of Panaji polls on Sunday. The counting of votes will be held on March 8 at Pharmacy College, Panaji. Voting will be held at 68 polling stations for the 30 wards of Panaji.
