STUDENT'S MEMORANDUM
* Would be at disadvantage if GCET exam scheduled for May 10 and 11 is cancelled
* Should we answer AIPMT on May 1 and forefeit our chance to answer in July
* Or should we skip exam on May 1 and will then be allowed to answer in July
* Most of the students were actually preparing for GCET, however had also applied for AIPMT

MARGAO: In a bid to placate the worried parents following the Supreme Court's approval for conducting single entrance test for MMBS and BDS through National Eligibilty Entrance Test (NEET), Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Friday said that he has urged the Advocate General (AG) to brief the Standing Counsel in this regard.
Addressing the grievances after a student read out a memorandum at a function in Margao, Parsekar said, “The Apex Court has given a decision. I cannot comment. The decision has done great injustice. Parsekar claimed if things go as per the SC judgement, then the very purpose of GCET is defeated. “Let it (AIPMT) be conducted in July,” said the CM.
In Goa, the students appear for GCET seriously and AIPMT for practice. There is no time for preparation. It is not possible for those who have already filled the form. For those who have not filled the form, they have two months.”

He called for cancellation of the first round (of exams) and that all Goan students be allowed to appear in July. According to Parsekar exact information was expected by late Friday evening.
According to CM, the preference for admissions is 85% for locals and 15% for all-India students while at the PG level, it is 50% for Goans and 50% at the all-India level. The super-speciality admission is on an all-India basis,” the CM remarked. There was however discordant opinion on this admission percentage as enunciated by the CM, from the parents. Many claimed that the admission is on an all-India basis.
