Scholastic year begins at Pilar Seminary
PANAJI: Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao inaugurated the new scholastic year of the Pilar Theological College with a Eucharistic celebration on June 11, in the seminary chapel at Pilar and conferred the ministries of Reader and Acolyte on 14 scholastics of the seminary.
The theme this year is ‘Called to Serve like God in Fidelity Justice & Mercy.’
The Rector Dr Norman Almeida pointed that students in the seminary are coming from 11states of India.
Dr Ivan D’Almeida delivered the main lecture for the occasion and spoke about the importance of dialogue in our country and then presented a paradigm of dialogue.
Earlier, the Superior General of Pilar Society Fr Francis Carvalho released the handbook and calendar. The seminary choir and orchestra were in attendance.
