Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Goa government on Thursday ordered a major reshuffle in the police force, including postings for officers awaiting deployment and the transfer of 12 Police Inspectors as part of a revamp of police stations and specialised units.
Akshat Ayush, IPS, who was serving as ADC to the Governor, has been appointed SP South and will assume charge in the forenoon of September 12, following an order from the Governor. Gurudas Gawade, currently SP Legal and Vigilance, will take additional charge as ADC to the Governor.
At the senior level, Francisco Corte, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed SP, Economic Offences Cell (EOC), with additional charge as DySP, EOC. Braz De Menezes, also awaiting posting, has been appointed Commandant of the 2nd and 3rd IRBn, while holding additional charge as SP and DySP, FRRO.
The reshuffle also brings changes in several police subdivisions.
SP Vishwesh Karpe has been posted as SDPO Panaji, moving from SDPO Porvorim, while Sudesh Naik moves in the opposite direction, from SDPO Panaji to SDPO Porvorim.
Ashish Shirodkar, transferred from SDPO Quepem, will now hold the dual charge of SDPO Pernem and SDPO Mapusa. Nilesh Rane, currently DySP/SDPO Canacona, will additionally take charge as SDPO
Quepem.
Shridevi B V, IPS, has been transferred from SDPO Bicholim and posted as DySP, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), with additional charge as DySP, Pink Force and DySP, Women Police Station. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed SDPO
Bicholim.
The reshuffle at the Police Inspector level includes several direct transfers between police stations and units.
Pravin Gawas has been shifted from Canacona Police Station to Talpona Coastal Security PS, while Therron S D’Costa moves from Talpona Coastal Security to Canacona.
Anant Gaonkar has been transferred from Agassaim PS to Mapusa PS; Dattaram Raut from TC Mopa Airport to Agassaim; Paresh Naik from Crime Branch, Ribandar, to TC Mopa Airport; and Navin Desai from Mapusa PS to EOC PS.
Melito Fernandes has been shifted from ACB/Vigilance to Collem PS, while Raghoba Kamat has been transferred from Collem to TC Porvorim.
Videsh Shirodkar has been transferred from Colva PS to the Security Unit, Panaji; Satish Padwalkar from GRP D Coy to Old Goa PS; and Gouresh Malik from Old Goa to TC Pernem.
