The Congress legislator has also demanded justice to the lady GMC doctor who has complained of sexual harassment, and further demanded erection of a statue of the Father of Opinion Poll, Dr Jack de Sequeira in the Goa Assembly complex.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Reginaldo said that if the present government truly believes in Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn, then the dispensation should accord utmost priority to set things right at the Goa Medical College, Bambolim. “I have been shouting for the last five years regarding the pathetic condition of GMC. The buildings have affected not only the students but the teaching community as well,” he pointed out.
Regarding the sexual harassment case of the lady doctor, Reginaldo said the authorities ought to have initiated action when a wall is being defaced with vulgar pictures.
“Neither the hospital Dean nor the health authorities have come to the rescue of the victim doctor,” he said, while demanding to know whether the BJP does not care for the woman.
While saying that the lady doctor has filed a complaint of sexual harassment, Reginaldo has asked the government to come clean and urged the new Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to bring the culprits to book.
Remembering the father of Goan Opinion Poll, Dr Jack de Sequeira on his 102nd birth anniversary on Thursday, Reginaldo said the time has come to install a statue of Dr Sequeira in the Assembly complex.
“We have in the Assembly the statue of those who were demanding merger of Goa into Maharashtra. I think as a befitting tribute to Dr Jack de Sequeira, his statue should be installed in the Assembly,” he demanded.
