A large number of devotees took part in Dussehra all over Canacona on Friday.
In Loliem, the Tarangs were ceremoniously taken in a procession in the village. One of the Tarang belonged to Shri Nirakar Devalaya, while the other Tarang belonged to the Shri Sankarshan Devalaya.
After the main rituals at Sankarshan Devalaya, the Tarangs are taken in a procession to the Nirakar temple and then to the Shri Keshav Devalaya at Loliem, before coming back to the Sankarshan Devalaya.
Elsewhere in the taluka, the day is also observed as Vijayadashami, with puja and rituals being conducted in several temples and places of worship.
Dussehra was also celebrated at the Shri Mallikarjun temple in Gaondongrim.
The idol of Durga was worshipped at Burmar-Agonda for the last nine days and was ceremoniously taken in a procession for immersion in the sea.
