Sewage raises a stink along Borda stretch

Sewage spilled over the roads in Borda locality on Thursday after the underground sewage line was found choked with waste and mud.

While sewage overflowed on the internal road going to the PWD quarters at Borda, the PWD deployed men and machinery on the main road to flush out the waste accumulated at the sewage chambers, triggering the sewage overflow.  
PWD, Assistant Engineer Ganesh Velip said the jetting vehicle was deployed at Borda after complaints of sewage overflow was received from some places. 
“The jetting machine covered much ground on Thursday and the work will continue for a day or two,” he said.

UGF expresses concern over western bypass project

The United Goan Foundation has questioned the construction of the western bypass without a Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) report and application of mind, saying that inundation of large tracts of low lying areas of Benaulim-Seraulim belt should come as an eye opener to the powers that be and the officials.
