Shock and shame as history sheeter rapes senior citizen

MARGAO

In a shocking incident, a 65-year old woman, who was employed as a home nurse to take care of a male senior citizen, was allegedly raped by a history sheeter

Seby Ferrao at Raia late Friday night.

The incident came to light on Saturday morning after the woman narrated her trauma to her employer, who in turn intimated the Maina-Curtorim police.

The incident is believed to have occurred at around 10 pm on Friday when the victim lady was about to retire to bed in the house of her employer when the accused pounced on her and raped her after pushing her in the pantry of the house.

Sources said the victim woman was employed as a home nurse for the employer as the latter had recently undergone an operation. Police said the accused also used to come to the place to meet his girlfriend, who used to stay in the staff quarters provided by the employer.

On Friday night, after serving dinner to her employer, the victim changed her clothes in her room to retire to bed. Police said as she just came out of her room, she found someone, who caught hold of her neck and put one hand on her mouth, before dragging her into the pantry opposite her room. Police said the victim lady has been sent for medical examination and a case has been registered against Seby Ferrao for rape.

Investigating officer, PSI Veronica Fernadnes, said the police are on the look out for the accused person. Maina-Curtorim police station in-charge, PI Pravin Kumar Vast, said the police have commenced investigations in the case by registering a case of rape against Ferrao.

District police chief, SP Arvind Gawas said accused Ferrao was involved in a number of property offenses, while exuding confidence that the police will go all out to nab the history sheeter.
