PANAJI: The health condition of Union Minister for AYUSH and Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik is now stable and is on the path of improvement. Considering this, the team of doctors who flew down from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Army Hospital (R&R), New Delhi have said that there is no need to shift the minister to New Delhi for treatment or medical care.
The medical experts who flew in on Monday have expressed the opinion that it will take a considerable amount of time for Naik to make a complete recovery.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tweeted, “I thank the team of doctors from AIIMS, Delhi for their visit to Goa. During their visit, they reviewed the treatment and facilities at GMC and ESI Hospital for Covid-19 patients in Goa. Their guidance will definitely help Goa’s medical team for Covid-19 management in the state.”
The AIIMS team included Dr Rajeshwari, professor and head of department of Critical Care Medicine and Dr Anant Mohan, professor and head of department of Pulmonary Medicine whereas the team from Army Hospital (R & R), New Delhi comprised of Lt Col Munish Kumar, Transplant Anaesthesiologist and Lt Col M Shyam, a critical care specialist.
Among the suggestions offered by this team of medical experts is the need for improvement in Covid-19 testing in the State and supply of oxygen through the High Flow Nasal Oxygen machine.
