As part of the road safety week in Goa, the Citizens Initiative group of Maddel residents led by Anthony Fernandes have organised road painting sessions in Maddel along with other artists.
The citizens have decided to paint GO SLOW signages at major spots so that public rides slowly and safely on Maddel roads and avoid accidents.
The initiative has started from Holy Cross Chapel and ends at Maddel Pequeno.
The same is also held as a protest as the District Authorities have failed to install requested hump speed breakers even despite being notified a month ago.
“We had even written to the PWD to expedite the matter and install speed breakers soon. Though let down by authorities we have taken the initiative now for our ward and it’s lovely people,” Anthony said.
